Auntie Melanie's Breakfast Crescents

This crescent is almost a foot long!

This is my attempt to outbreakfast McDonald's. Granted, there are times it is just too convenient to stop for a meal on the road. But it is nice to smell breakfast being prepared in your own kitchen, too.

Auntie Melanie's Breakfast Crescents

Ingredients

13 oz. turkey bacon (though real bacon is truly meat candy)
4 eggs
12 oz cheddar cheese
2 large crescents

Fry bacon in a frying pan, and drain on paper towels.

The poaching cups came from Wal-Mart.
Time for the eggs.

Poached Eggs

Crack one egg into each cup of egg poacher base. Pierce each yolk with fork, and add 1/2 tsp water to each cup. Cook the two eggs for 1 min. 15 seconds--1 min. 40 seconds. Let eggs stand 30 seconds before removing cover to allow eggs to finish cooking.

Slice the crescents in half, two eggs on the the bottom, then cheese, then bacon, then cheese. These large crescents, which I purchased from the bakery of a local grocery store, will take three or four pieces of bacon. Replace the top of the crescent. You can pop them into the microwave for about 10 seconds to melt the cheese. Hopefully, someone has already brewed a fresh pot of coffee. Serves one, or you could cut it in half  and share.

Gardening Hint
Enjoy the flowers from each season--autumn chrysanthemums really perk up the changing weather, complementing the varying colors of the trees. Chrysanthemums are inexpensive, hardy, available in many colors, and will come back next year. Mums also enjoy being indoors.
